סיפורו הייחודי של הנגב המערבי שזור בסיפורי המשפחות שבחרו להתיישב בחבל הארץ הדרומי הנמצא סמוך לרצועת עזה. כך סיפורם של ליבנת ואביב קוץ ז״ל יחד עם שלושת ילדיהם האהובים — רותם בת ה-18 ז״ל, יונתן בן ה-16 ז״ל ויפתח בן ה-14 ז״ל — מעניק בימים אלה אור לחיים בקיבוץ כפר עזה הדומם.
משפחה מלאה בצחוק, תקווה, עשייה, מלאכה וקהילתיות — כל אחד בעולמו — הביאה אור למרקם החיים המשפחתי והקהילתי אשר יצרו מרכז חיים איכותי ואהבה בלתי נשכחת לקהילת כפר עזה ויישובי העוטף.
על אף שגרת ירי הרקטות וההתקפות הבלתי פוסקות על קיבוץ כפר עזה, משפחת קוץ נותרה איתנה בתקוותה ובאמונתה בשלום — עד אותו בוקר שבת, ה-7 באוקטובר, בו התעוררו חמשת בני המשפחה לתופת ההתקפה הרצחנית של מחבלי חמאס, שרצחו אותם בביתם — אותו בית שסיימו לבנות רק ארבע שנים קודם לכן.
The unique story of the Western Negev is interwoven with the stories of the families who chose to settle in the southern region near the Gaza Strip. The story of Livnat and Aviv Kutz, together with their three beloved children — Rotem, 18; Yonatan, 16; and Yiftach, 14 — illuminates lives that were extinguished at Kibbutz Kfar Aza on October 7, 2023.
A family full of laughter, hope, action, art, and community — each in their own space — brought light to the fabric of family and community life, creating a worthy center of life and unforgettable love for the community of Kfar Aza and the surrounding kibbutzim.
Despite the relentless rocket fire on Kibbutz Kfar Aza, the Kutz family remained steadfast in their hope and belief in peace — until that Saturday morning, October 7, when the five of them woke to the horrors of the Hamas attack, and were murdered inside the home they had finished building only four years before.
״כנפיים של תקווה״ הוא מיצב אומנות קהילתי שיצרה ליבנת קוץ ז״ל, יזמית, אשת חינוך ואומנות, יחד עם חברי קיבוץ כפר עזה ביולי 2023 — שלושה חודשים בלבד לפני שנרצחה. בשיתוף פעולה קהילתי נאספו חלקי בובות וצעצועים שסיימו את תפקידם בחדרי הילדות, ומוחזרו לטובת כנפיים צבעוניות וגדולות — כנפיים שהעלו חיוך וכוח לכל מי שרצה לעוף, ולו רק באופן סימלי.
ליבנת ז״ל הרימה את הכפפה ושילבה במיצב ערכים של קיימות, שימור הסביבה, ועידוד הקהילה לשימוש חוזר. במלאכה עסקו יחד — ילדים, נשים, אנשים, בוגרים — אוספים, ממיינים, מדביקים, מצטלמים, צוחקים, מדברים, ועוסקים במחזור ומלאכה.
הכנפיים המקוריות נותרו על קיר מקלט בכפר עזה — סמל שקט של ילדות שמחה. בעקבות אסון ה-7 באוקטובר ביקשה משפחתה של ליבנת מקהילות בישראל ומחוצה לה לשכפל את המיצב לזכרה — באופן שבו נוכל לאחד את שברי הצעצועים למען אופטימיות, כוח ומעוף לכל מי שזקוק לו.
Wings of Hope is a community art installation created by Livnat Kutz Z”L — an entrepreneur, educator, and artist — together with members of Kibbutz Kfar Aza in July 2023, just three months before her murder. Through community collaboration, broken dolls and retired toys were gathered from children's rooms and given a second life as large, colorful wings — wings that bring a smile and a sense of strength to anyone who wishes to fly, even symbolically.
Livnat wove into the work the values she lived by: sustainability, care for the environment, and a community of reuse. Children, women, men, and elders all took part — collecting, sorting, gluing, photographing, laughing, talking, working with their hands.
The original wings remain on the wall of a shelter in Kfar Aza — a silent symbol of a happy childhood. In her memory, Livnat's family invited communities in Israel and around the world to recreate the installation, so that we may bring together the broken pieces in the name of optimism, strength, and flight — for anyone who needs it.
חניכי שבט אלמוג ענו לקריאה. הבאנו מהבית צעצועים ישנים — בובות שנשכחו במגירה, חיילים מלגו, גלגלים בודדים, חלקי משחקי קופסה. ישבנו במעגל על ברזנט כחול בגן, מיינו את הצעצועים לפי צבע — אדום, כתום, צהוב, ירוק, כחול, סגול, ורוד, לבן, שחור — כל גוון לערמה משלו.
חתכנו קרטון בצורת זוג כנפיים גדול, ציירנו את צבעי הקשת לפי הסדר, וצבענו במכחולים גדולים. אחר כך, צעצוע אחר צעצוע, הדבקנו את הקטעים הצבעוניים — כל ילד הוסיף חלק מעצמו לכנף. עשינו את זה יחד, צוחקים ומדברים, בדיוק כפי שליבנת חלמה שזה ייעשה.
הכנף תלויה היום במרכז השבט — לא במוזיאון רחוק, אלא במקום שבו אנחנו חיים. כל יום שנכנסים לפעולה, רואים אותה. תזכורת פיזית, יומיומית, חיה — לקהילה שאיבדנו, ולחיים שכולנו נדרשים להמשיך לבנות.
The scouts of Shevet Almog answered the call. We brought old toys from home — dolls forgotten in drawers, Lego soldiers, lone wheels, board-game pieces. We sat in a circle on a blue tarp in the park and sorted them by color — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, white, black — each shade to its own pile.
We cut cardboard into the shape of a large pair of wings, painted the colors of the rainbow in order, and brushed them on with broad strokes. Then, toy by toy, we glued the colorful pieces into place — every child adding a part of themselves. We did it together, laughing and talking, exactly the way Livnat dreamed it would be done.
The wings hang today at the heart of our shevet — not in a distant museum, but in the place where we live. Every day, when we come in, we see them. A physical, daily, living reminder — of the community we lost, and of the lives we are all called upon to keep building.
